all inclusive resort a vacation property that bundles lodging, meals, drinks (often alcoholic), gratuities, and on-site entertainment into one upfront price
amenities desirable, non-essential features, services, or locations that enhance comfort, convenience, or pleasure for residents, guests, or users
B&B a small, typically privately owned lodging establishment that offers overnight accommodation and breakfast, usually included in one inclusive price
chain hotel a lodging property that is part of a group of hotels operating under the same brand, sharing centralized management, marketing, and standardized services across multiple locations
concierge a personalized service professional, often found in hotels, luxury apartments, or offices, responsible for assisting guests or residents with tasks like booking reservations, arranging transportation, and securing event tickets.
eco hotel an environmentally sustainable accommodation designed to minimize its carbon footprint and ecological impact
group rate a discounted price, fee, or tariff offered to a specific number of people booking together (usually 5–10+ people) or purchasing services in bulk, such as hotels, travel, or attractions
hostel an inexpensive, social form of accommodation that provides short-term, communal lodging, typically featuring dormitory-style rooms with bunk beds and shared facilities like kitchens and lounges
market segmentation the strategic process of dividing a broad target market into smaller, more manageable, and distinct groups of consumers who share similar characteristics, needs, or behaviors
micro stay hotel a hospitality concept offering flexible, short-duration room bookings, often priced by the hour rather than the night
motel an affordable, roadside lodging designed for motorists, featuring direct parking access and exterior room entrances
peak days highest demand, activity
porter a person employed to carry luggage/bags (especially at hotels or stations), act as a doorkeeper, or perform cleaning/maintenance in buildings
premium price strategy where companies set higher prices for goods or services than competitors to cultivate an image of superior quality, luxury, and exclusivity
shoulder days a dedicated workout session focusing on deltoid muscle strengthening or, in travel/business, the days (or season) immediately before/after a high-demand peak period
tourist destination a geographical area—such as a country, city, or region—that attracts visitors for leisure, business, or, at minimum, an overnight stay
