age of majority to contract The age of majority to contract is typically 18 in most jurisdictions, at which point an individual gains full legal capacity to enter binding agreements
contractual capacity Contractual capacity is the legal competence of a party to understand the nature, terms, and consequences of an agreement, making it binding.
disaffirmance Disaffirmance is the legal act of rejecting, canceling, or voiding a contract by a party who lacked capacity when the contract was formed, such as a minor, someone mentally incompetent, or intoxicated.
emancipation law is the legal process or event by which a minor (typically aged 16 or older) is released from parental control and custody before reaching the age of majority, gaining adult responsibilities and rights.
intoxication temporary, reversible condition caused by substances (alcohol, drugs) that impair the central nervous system, leading to altered mental, physical, and behavioral states.
mental incapacity legally or physically unable to make informed, rational decisions or manage their own affairs due to conditions like severe dementia, mental illness, or cognitive impairment.
minor generally defined as a person under the legal age of majority (usually 18). Legally, they are considered children or juveniles requiring parental guidance, often with restricted capacity to enter contracts.
minority the smaller number or part, especially a number that is less than half the whole number
