What is a common noun? A general name
What is a proper noun? A specific name that is capitalized
What is a concrete noun? Something you can see, touch, or sense
What is an abstract noun? An idea or feeling
What is a collective noun? A word for a group
What is an adjective? A word that describes a noun.
What is an adverb? A word that describes a verb, adjective, or another adverb
What is a conjunction? A word that connects words or groups of words
What is a coordinating conjunction? Connects equal parts (e.g., and, but, or)
What is a subordinating conjunction? Connects dependent clauses (e.g., because, although).
What is a correlative conjunction? Works in pairs (e.g., either/or, neither/nor)
What is a preposition? A word that shows relationship between a noun/pronoun and another word.

What is a prepositional phrase? A phrase starting with a preposition (e.g., under the table).
What is persuasive language? Language used to convince someone to think or act a certain way.
What is ethos? Appeal to credibility or trust.
What is pathos? Appeal to emotions.
What is logos? Appeal to logic or facts.
What is repetition? Repeating words/phrases for emphasis.
What is a rhetorical question? A question that doesn’t need an answer.
What is exaggeration Overstating something to make a point.
What is an anecdote? A short personal story used to make a point or connect with the audience.
What is asyndeton? Leaving out conjunctions between words or phrases (e.g., “fast, strong, fearless”).
What is an assertion? A confident statement presented as fact, often without proof.
What are attacks? Criticizing a person instead of their argument.
What is bias? A one-sided viewpoint that favors a particular side.
What is connotation? The emotional or cultural meaning of a word.
What is denotation? The literal dictionary meaning of a word.
What is evidence? Facts, data, or examples used to support a claim
What is diction? The choice of words used by a speaker or writer.
What is a generalization? A broad statement that may not apply to everyone.
What is the rule of three? Grouping ideas in threes to make them more memorable or powerful.
What is jargon? Specialized language used by a specific group or profession.
What are loaded words? Words chosen to provoke strong emotions.
What is meiosis? Understating something to make it seem less important.
