Two stages of Industrialization the United States wealth of natural resources meant that it was positioned to undergo its own industrial revolution
The first Industrial revolution The first Industrial revolution began in the 18th century and focussed on textile manufacturing and steam power
Samuel Slater-father of American industrial revolution He was born in England but arrived in United States in 1789 & is considered the father of the American industrial revolution when he introduced British Industrial techniques into Americas in late 18th century
Slater's contributions He memorized many of the used in British factories and used his knowledge to devolpe similar methods in the United states
Francis Cabot Lowell He was another important contributor to the first revolution in the U.S was from American businessman and merchant Francis Cabot Lowell
Lowell's impact the company was extremely successful and productive due to its use of mechanization whereas most other companies at the time used methods that relied on manual labor
Interchangeable parts when parts of a machine are made to exact specifications and can easily be replaced if broken down
Interchangeable parts were revolutionary because..... revolutionary because it allows mass production & repair of machines with relativly unskilled labor
Second Industrial Revolution it focused on steel production, railroad construction, electricity
