Natural Selection
The study of trait variation in different populations.
| Term | Definition |

| Species | A group of organisms that are physically similar and can reproduce with each other to produce offspring. |
| population | a group of organisms of a species living In the same environment over time. |
| trait | a characteristic of an organism; many traits are inherited (genetic). |
| environmental conditions | variables in the environment such as food and water availability, water quality, temperature, air quality, topography, habitat, and natural hazards. |
| probability | the chances or likelihood that something will happen. |
