The study of trait variation in different populations

| Trait: | A characteristic of an organism; many traits are inherited (genetic). |
| Environmental Conditions: | Variables in the environment such as food and water availability, water quality, temperature, air quality, topography, habitat, and natural hazards. |
| Probability: | he chances or likelihood that something will happen. |
