QuestionAnswer
Adjacent Angles Angles that have the same vertex, share a common side, and do not overlap.
Alternate Exterior Angles Exterior angles that line on opposite sides of the transversal.
Alternate Interior Angles Interior angles that line on opposite sides of the transversal.
Bases One of the two parallel congruent faces of prism.
Complementary Angles Two angles that are complementary if the sum of their measure is 90 decrease.
Cone A 3 dimensional figure with one circular base connected by a curved surface to a single point.
Congruent Have the same measure; if one image can be obtained by sequence of ratiocination, reflections, or translations
Corresponding Angles Angles that are in the same position on two parallel in relation to a transversal.
Cross Section The intersection of a solid and a plane.
Cylinder A 3 dimensional figure with two parallel congruent circular bases connected by a curved surface.
Edge The line segment where two faces of a polyhedron intersect.
Exterior Angles The four outer angles formed by tow lines cut by a transversal.
Face A flat surface of a polyhedron.
Interior Angles The four inside angles formed by two lines cut by a tranversal.
Line Segment Part of a line containing two endpoints and all of the points between them.
Parallel Lines Lines in the same plane that never intersect or cross. The symbol II means parallel.
Perpendicular Lines Two lines that intersect to from right angles.
Plane A 2 dimensional flat surface that extends in a directions.
Polyhedron A 3 dimensional figure with faces that are polygons.
Prism A polyhedral with two parallel congruent faces called bases.
Pyramid A polyhedron with one base that is a polygon and three or more triangular faces meet at a common vertex.
Remote Interior Angles The angles of a triangle that are not adjacent to giving exterior angle.
Scale The scale that gives the ratio that compare the measurements of a drawling or model to the measurements of the real object.
Scales Drawling A drawling that is used to represent objects that are too large or too small to be drawn at actual size.
Scale Factor A scale written as a ratio without units in simplest form. The ratio of the lengths of two corresponding sides of two similar polygons.
Scales Model A model used to represent objects that are too large or too small to be built at actual size.
Scalene Triangle A triangle having to congruent sides.
Straight Angle An angle that measures exactly to 180 decrease.
Supplementary Angles Two angles are supplementary if the sum of their measures is 180 decrease.
Transversal A line that intersects two or more other lines.
Triangle A figure with three sides and three angles.
Vertex A vertex of an angle is the common endpoint of the rays forming the angles.
Vertical Angles Opposite angles formed by the intersection of two lines. Vertical angles are congruent.
Vertices Plural of vertex.
Zero Angle An angle that measures exactly 0 degrees.
