| Alternate exterior angles | Exterior angles that lie on opposite sides of the transversal |
| Alternate interior angles | Interior angles that lie on opposite sides of the transversal |
| Bases | One of the two parallel congruent faces of a prism |
| Complementary angles | Two angles are complementary if the sum of their measures is 90 degrees |
| Cone | A three dimensional figure with one circular base connected by a curved surface to a single point |
| Congruent | Having the same measure if one image can be obtained from another by a sequence of rotations, reflections or translations |
| Corresponding Angles | Angles that are in the same position on two parallel lines in relation to a transversal |
| cross section | The intersection of a solid and a plane |
| cylinder | A three dimensional figure with two parallel congruent circular bases connected by a curved surface |
| edge | The line segment where two faces of a polyhedron intersect |
| exterior angles | The four outer angles formed by two lines cut by a transversal |
| face | A flat surface of a polyhedron |
| interior angles | The four inside angles formed by two line cut by a transversal |
| line segment | Part of a line containing two endpoints and all of the points between them |
| parallel lines | Lines in the same plane that never intersect or cross |
| perpendicular lines | Two lines that intersect to form right angles |
| plane | A two dimensional flat surface that extends in all directions |
| polyhedron | A three dimensional figure with faces that are polygons |
| Prism | A polyhedron with two parallel congruent faces called bases |
| Pyramid | A polyhedron with one base that is a polygon and three or more triangular faces that meet at a common vertex |
| Remote interior angles | The angles of a triangle that are not adjacent to a given exterior angle |
| scale | The scale that gives the ratio that compares the measurements of a drawing or model to the measurements of the real object |
| scale drawings | A drawing that is used to represents objects that are large or to small in size to be drawn at actual size |
| scale factor | A scale written as a ratio without units in simplest form |
| scale model | A model used to represent objects that are two large or to small to be built at actual size |
| scalene triangle | A triangle having no congruent sides |
| straight angle | An angle that measures exactly 180 degrees |
| supplementary angles | The angle of the sum of their measures is 180 degrees |
| transversal | A line that intersects two or more other lines |
| triangle | A figure with three sides and three angles |
| vertex | The point where three or more faces of a polyhedron intersect |
| vertical angles | Opposite angles formed by the intersection of two lines |
| vertices | Plural of vertex |
| zero angle | An angle that measures exactly 0 degrees |
