What is incomplete dominance? The heterozygous phenotype is somewhere between the two homozygous phenotypes. It is a mix between two phenotypes. Neither allele is completely dominant or recessive.
Example of incomplete dominance. Red and white flowers make pink flowers.
What is codominance? When both traits are fully and separately expressed.
Example of codominance. Red and white flowers make red and white speckled flowers.
Blood type is an example of which two inheritance patterns? Codominance and multiple alleles.
What is multiple alleles? Having more than two alleles for one gene.
Example of multiple alleles. Fur color in rabbits.
What is polygenic inheritance? A trait produced by two or more genes. It shows a range in phenotype. Epistasis can occur.
Examples of polygenic inheritance. Skin color, eye color, height, and personality.
What is epistasis? When one expression of one gene is masked by other genes.
Examples of epistasis. Labrador retriever fur colors, eye color, and albinism.
