TermDefinition
University an institution, having a college or liberal arts, program of graduate studies, several professional schools, including theology, law, medicine, and engineering
Community College nonresidential junior college, serve a specific community, supported in part by local government funds
Admissions office you apply to for college applications
Undergraduate a student that has not received a first degree
Graduate a student holding a bachelor's, the first pro degree, studies in an advanced degree
Tuition charge or fee for instruction
Credit a unit that measures learning as credits
Major the area of study your focusing on
Minor specialization beyond a college major
Bachelor's Degree a degree awarded by a college to someone who has completed undergraduate studies
Associate's Degree a degree awarded by a junior or community college
Scholarship a sum of money granted to a student
Grant granted as a privilege or right
FAFSA you will need to fill out to get any financial aid
Financial Aid monetary support, as a loan or scholarship, that is used to pay for school, especially higher education
State university/college a college that is financially supported by a state government
Liberal Arts the academic course, as opposed to professional or technical subjects
Humanities investigate literature
