| Union | The United Sates of America. |
| Yankee | Comon term for a union soldier. |
| Rebel | Common term for a confederate soldier. |
| Infantry | Group of men who travel and fight on foot. |
| Gettysburg Address | A two-minute speech by President Lincon at a ceremony dedicating the Battlefield as a National Cemetery. |
| Emancipation Proclamation | Issued by President Lincon freeing all slaves. |
| Civil War | People from the same country fighting against each other. |
| Secede | To leave the union. |
