| Gettysburg Address | Two-minute speech by President Lincoln at a ceremony dedicating the Battlefield as a National Cemetery. |
| Emancipation Proclamation | Issued by President Lincoln freeing all slaves. |
| Civil War | People from the same country fighting against each other. |
| Secede | TO leave the Union. |
