Purebred offspring resulting from a true breeding
Gene the basic physical and functional unit of heredity, composed of a specific sequence of DNA or RNA located on a chromosome.
Allele one of two or more alternative forms or versions of a gene that arise by mutation and are located at the same place (locus) on a chromosome
Dominant allele a version of a gene that expresses its associated phenotype (trait) even when only one copy is present, masking the effect of a recessive allele
