Who was the patron of Saint Chapelle? Louis IX, also legitimized his rule with windows that showed images of him receiving the relic.

What was the message of the Last Judgement portal at Autun Cathedral? Scenes of deceased being resurrected, on the right there are people going into hellmouth while figures on the left are reaching salvation. This is meant to scare people into going to church in order to reach salvation.
What is in the highlight of the portal? Tympanum.
What is the message of Christ in Majesty at Saint Pierre Monastery at Moissac? Image of resurrected Christ as symbol of salvation and hope.
What is the message of Mission of the Apostles at Sainte Madeleine? Represents spreading the word of Christianity worldwide through the help of the apostles.
How do reliquaries function? Helps those who venerate them to get into heaven, with the help of the saint's personal belonging. Insures that your oath is upheld.
What was the Reliquary of Sainte Foye? Was martyred, pilgrims donated stones over time. Brought pilgrims and therefore wealth into the town.
What is a characteristic of Cluny church architecture? Extravagant, large in size, and incredibly wealthy. Believed in prayer more than work in terms of the prayer-work balance.
What is a characteristic of Cistercian church architecture? Naturalistic, believed in prayer-work balance, not favoring one over the other. Much smaller and self-sufficient.
How is narrative illustrated in the Bayeaux Embroidery? This scene is read as a person venerating a relic.
