Check data presented in a table for Round off errors
The DISTRIBUTION of a variable tells us what values it takes and how often it takes those values
Pie charts and Bar graphs are helpful in displaying distribution of a categorical variable
Pie chart Always show the parts of some whole
Bar graph Can compare an set of numbers measured in the same unit
To show quantitative data use: Line graph!
When using a line graph you want to look for Trends and seasonal variation Also, ask whether the data has been seasonally adjusted
Why avoid using pictograms? Misleading to the eye!! Clutter, hard for data to be seen
