TermDefinition
Act Decisively: To make a firm decision and take immediate, bold action without hesitating.
Hedge: A strategy to protect yourself against loss or risk by balancing one bet or action against another.
Calibrating: Carefully adjusting or fine-tuning something to make it as accurate or effective as possible.
Pragmatic: Dealing with things sensibly and realistically based on what actually works, rather than following a strict theory or ideology.
Transactionalism: A style of relationship or politics based purely on "give and take" or "deals" rather than shared values or long-term loyalty.
Unhindered: Moving or acting freely without any obstacles, delays, or interference.
Conferred: To have a title, degree, benefit, or right officially granted or given to you.
Subordination: The act of placing someone in a lower rank or making them secondary/subject to another’s authority.
Retaliation: The act of "hitting back" or seeking revenge against someone who has harmed you (often through trade or military action).
Fiscal Capacity: The ability of a government to raise enough money (through taxes or borrowing) to pay for its expenses and services.
Fragmentation: The process of breaking into smaller, separate, or disorganized parts.
Complementarities: When two different things work well together because they provide what the other is missing.
Plurilateral: An agreement or action involving a group of several countries, but not everyone in the world.
Hyperscalers: Massive companies (like Google, Amazon, or Microsoft) that dominate the digital world by providing huge amounts of data and cloud computing power.
Fluidity: The quality of being able to change easily or flow smoothly; a situation that is not fixed or stable.
Unwavering: Standing firm and steady; not changing or becoming weaker, even under pressure.
Unprecedented: Never having happened, been done, or been known before.
Mourn: To feel or show deep sadness or grief, usually over a loss.
