satellite An object that orbits a planet.
planet A object that orbits a star.
meteor A streak of light that's produced by meteoroid.
comet A loose collection of ice and dust that orbit the sun.
star A ball of hot gas that undergoes nuclear fusion.
constellation A pattern of stars that people imagine represent a figure or object.
axis A imaginary line that passes through the earth's center.
rotation The spinning motion of a planet on its axis.
revolution The movement of a object around another object.
orbit The path a object takes when it revolves around another object in space.
celendar The organized time that defines the begging, length, and diversion of a year.
solstice Two days of the year which the sun reaches the greatest distance north or south.
equinox 2 days of the year when neither hemispheres are titled towards or away from the sun.
force A push or a pull exerted on a object.
gravity The force between objects.
law of universal gravity The scientific law that say every object in the universe attracts another object.
mass The amount of matter in a object.
weight The measure of the force of gravity on a object.
inertia The tendency of an object to resist a change of motion.
newtons first law of motion The scientific law that states any object at rest will stay at rest.
phase One of the different apparent shapes of the moon as seen from earth.
eclipse The particle or blocking of one object.
solar eclipse The partial or total blocking of one object in space by another.
umbra The darkest part of a shadow.
penumbra The part of a shadow surrounding the darkest part.
lunar eclipse The blocking of sunlight to the moon that occurs when Earth is directly between the sun and the moon.
tide The periodic rise and fall of the level of water in the ocean.
spring tide The tide with the greatest differences between consecutive low and high tides.
neap tide The tide with the greatest differences between consecutive low and high tides.
