(1) self-determination -- countries should rule themselves, get rid of imperialism and colonialism; he was not an imperialist; create a league of nations that US should be involved in to contribute to the league's success

what was US senate's reaction to versailles treaty? (1) why did they think the way they did to the league of nations? (2) US senate refused to ratify it --> another world war in general; would bring US into another foreign war, joining the league would undermine the congressional power of being able to declare war and was therefore potentially unconstitutional
what was the dawes plan in 1924? (3) countries like italy, france, & britain all owe money to US; US would lend Germany money to pay reparations; leads those countries to repay US
during the war, germany was doomed to fail. what did this lead to, and how did a specific person think? (2) who will be blamed? (2) adolf hitler believed germany hadn't been defeated but had been stabbed in the back by their leaders; this led to WWII; communists and jews
