Political Party group of people organized to acquire and exercise political power
Two-party System political system where the electorate gives votes largely to two major political parties
Third Parties political party operating over a limited time among two major parties in a two-party system
(Party) Platform formal declaration by political party that outlines core principles, goals, and positions on significant issues
Planks official beliefs and goals of a political party
Republican Party associated with free-market policies, lower taxes, and conservative social policies
Democratic Party supports organized labor, minority civil rights, higher taxes, and larger government control of economy
