| Republic | a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch. |

| dictator | a ruler with total power over a country, typically one who has obtained control by force |
| Patrician | an aristocrat or nobleman. |

| martyr | A person who dies for their beliefs |
| apostle | a "sent one" or messenger, primarily referring to the twelve original disciples chosen by Jesus Christ to preach the gospel and establish the early church |
| aqueducts | an artificial channel for conveying water, typically in the form of a bridge across a valley or other gap. |
