obsession the state of being preoccupied or "sat upon" by an idea
insidious operating in a seemingly harmless way but actually with grave effect (literally "sitting in ambush")
extortion the practice of obtaining something through force (to twist or force another to do something for gain)
tortilla a flat, circular bread (related to turning/twisting dough)
torture the infliction of severe pain (originally associated with writhing/twisting)
dialect a regional variety of language (speaking/reading)
