devote to decide that a specific amount of money, time, or effort will be used for only one important goal

monotony when everything or every day is the same and never changes
combat (boredom) working to prevent being bored or finding ways to stay busy
infrastructure the basic systems a city or country need to work, like roads, bridges, power lines, and water pipes
terraforming transforming a planet (like mars) so that it can support human life
rectify to fix something or make a wrong right again
biosignatures any substance or pattern that provides scientific proof that life exists or used to exist in a certain place
dichotomies a division between two things that are completely opposite or very different from eachother
biota all the living things that (plants and animals) found in a specific area
calamitous impactors large objects from space (like giant astroids) that hit a planet and cause a terrible disaster or total destruction
huge toll something that cause a lot of damage, suffering, or loss over a period of time
subist to stay alive when you have only very little of what you need
stimulus something that causes a reaction or makes your brain wake up
candidates people who are being considered for a job or a mission
specter a constant ghostly worry about a danger that might happen in the future
