TermDefinition
Competition When living things try to get the same limited resource, like food, water, or space
Predator A an animal that hunts and eat other animals
Prey An animal that is hunted any eaten by another animal
Resource Anything an organism needs to survive, such as food, water, shelter, or sunlight
Territory An area that an animal defense has its own
Adaptation A trait or behavior that helps an organism survive and compete in its environment
Scarcity When there’s not enough of a resource(like food, water, or space) for all organisms
Niche The roller job an organism has in its ecosystem (how it survives and gets resources)
Symbiosis A close relationship between two different species that live together(sometimes helpful, harmful, or neutral)
Dominance When one animal is stronger or more powerful and gets first access to resources
