Brown VS. Board of Education The supreme court declared state laws establishing separate public schools for races are unconstitutional.
Hernandez VS. Texas NAACP Case where Court threw out a Texas law that denied Hispanics from serving in a jury trial.
Boynton VS. Virginia Segregation of interstate buses and in waiting rooms was illegal. This led to boycotts in other cities.
14th Amendment Provides citizenship to Americans and equal protection under law.
15th Amendment African American granted voting rights
24th Amendment This banned pull taxes in voter registration
Jim Crow Laws Mandated segregation in public facilities
Segregation Forced separation of racial groups in a community or establishment.
Desegregation Process of ending separation of two groups ( referring to races)
Integration Act of combining into something whole

July 1967 Detroit Races Riots -Riots lasted for 5 days, 43 people were killled, & 342 injured, -national guards troops were called in.
