correlation Correlational research is a non-experimental method that measures the statistical relationship between two or more variables without manipulating them
qualitative data non-numerical, descriptive information
quantitative data number based, numerical data
independent variable the variable that is changed, manipulated, or controlled in a scientific experiment
dependent variable A dependent variable is the main factor being measured, tested, or observed in a study
extraneous variable any factor in a research study, other than the independent variable, that could potentially influence the dependent variable
