| Civil Rights | The rights of citizens to political and social freedom and equality |
| segregation | The enforced separation of different racial groups in a country, community, or establishment |
| integration | the strategic, often forced, process of dismantling racial segregation to allow individuals equal access to public facilities, schools, housing, and jobs |
| injustice | A lack of fairness or justice |
| fortitude | Strength and courage to face pain or adversity/difficult situations |
| prejudice | a preconceived, often negative, opinion or attitude about a person or group formed without sufficient knowledge, experience, or reason, usually based on stereotypes, ignorance, or fear |
| demonstration | A public meeting or march protesting against something or expressing views on an issue |
| resilience | The capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness |
| solidarity | Unity or agreement of feeling or action, especially among individuals with a common interest |
| oratory | The art or practice of formal speaking in public |
