Civil Rights The rights of citizens to political and social freedom and equality
segregation The enforced separation of different racial groups in a country, community, or establishment
integration the strategic, often forced, process of dismantling racial segregation to allow individuals equal access to public facilities, schools, housing, and jobs
injustice A lack of fairness or justice
fortitude Strength and courage to face pain or adversity/difficult situations
prejudice a preconceived, often negative, opinion or attitude about a person or group formed without sufficient knowledge, experience, or reason, usually based on stereotypes, ignorance, or fear
demonstration A public meeting or march protesting against something or expressing views on an issue
resilience The capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness
solidarity Unity or agreement of feeling or action, especially among individuals with a common interest
oratory The art or practice of formal speaking in public
