Firmly With little possibility of movement; securely

Relent/relented To soften in temper, attitude, or severity, often by finally agreeing to something previously refused.
Glimpse A momentary partial view; see or perceive briefly or partially.
Mending/mend To repair, fix, or restore something broken, torn, or worn out to a usable condition.
Nomad A member of a people having no permanent abode, and who travel from place to place to find fresh pasture for their livestock
Snuffle/snuffling Breathing audible and heavily through a partly blocked nose, often while crying, sick with a cold, or sniffing around like an animal

Heroine A woman admired or idealized for her courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.
Emerge Move out of or away from something and come into view
Prod /prodding To poke, jab, or nudge someone/something with a finger or pointed object, both literally and figuratively to incite action. Prodding is the act of urging, prompting, or nagging a reluctant person to do something
Tatter /tattered Tattered describes something—usually clothing, fabric, or paper—that is torn, ragged, frayed, or in shreds due to heavy use or age
