| Preventative Action | A proactive strategy that identifies and addresses potential issues before they become problems. |
| Project charter | Document issued by the project sponsor that formally authorizes the existence of a project and provides the project manager with the authority to complete the project. |
| Project close report | A report that is created to provide stakeholders with a summary of the project. |
| Project management plan | A formal approved document that defines how a project is executed, monitored, and controlled. |
| Schedule Baseline | A projected schedule for a project that is used to track progress and compare it to the original plan |
