What is Agglutination? Blood Clumping
When does Agglutination occur? Occurs when: Antibodies react with antigens on blood cells
What is cause of sickle cell disease? A genetic mutation in the hemoglobin gene
What is Hematocrit? The percentage of red blood cells in a blood sample
What is Hematopoiesis? Blood cell formation
Where is Hematopoiesis located? Bone Marrow
What is the function of Hemoglobin? Attaches to oxygen and transports it in the blood
What is the function of Red Blood Cells(RBCs) Carry oxygen to all parts of the body(Contain: Hemoglobin)
How to Calculate Hematocrit (%)? Hematocrit (%) = RBC Volume / total volume x 100 = RBC = 20 mm Total blood = 50 mm Hematocrit = 40%
Homozygous dominant both alleles are dominant (CC)
Heterozygous dominant one allele is dominant and the other is recessive (Cc)
Homozygous recessive both alleles are recessive (cc)
