respiratory volumes various measurements of air associated w/ lungs
tidal volume amount of in & out air in eupnea- vital capacity
inspiratory reserve volume max inhale volume w/ hypernea- vital lung capacity
expiratory reserve volume max exhale w hypernea- vital capacity
residual volume air that is present, but doesn't move in or out- part of total lung capacity
anatomical space air that doesn't do gas exchange
respiration cycle 1 breath in & 1 breath out
