| Third Person Limited | a narrative point of view where a disembodied narrator tells the story using "he," "she," or "they," but stays restricted to the thoughts, feelings, and perceptions of one character at a time |
| Third Person Omniscient | a narrative perspective where an "all-knowing" narrator—who is not a character—knows the thoughts, feelings, and actions of all characters in the story. |
| Central Theme | the main, underlying idea or universal message that runs throughout a story, book, or piece of art |
| Central Idea | the primary, overarching message or main point an author wants to convey in a text, often summarized in a single sentence |
