| Term | Definition |

| Angle | Two lines that meet at a point |
| Obtuse Angle | An angle greater than 90 degrees |
| Acute Angle | An angle less than 90 degrees |
| Right Angle | An angle that is equal to 90 degrees |
| Triangle | A shape with 3 sides and 3 angles |
| Right Triangle | A triangle with a 90 degree angle |
| Acute Triangle | A triangle with 3 acute angles |
| Obtuse Triangle | A triangle with 1 obtuse angle |
| Scalene Triangle | A triangle with no sides the same length |
| Isosceles Triangle | A triangle with two sides the same length |
| Equilateral Triangle | A triangle with all sides the same length |
| Point | An exact location |
| Line | Has arrows. continues forever in both directions |
| Line Segment | Begins and ends at endpoints |
| Ray | Starts at a point and continues forever in one direction |
| End Point | The points where a line segment begins and ends |
| Vertex | The point where two lines meet |
| Intersecting Lines | Lines that cross or will eventually cross |
| Parallel Lines | Lines that never meet |
| Perpendicular Lines | Lines that cross and make 90 degrees |
| Rhombus | Has 4 equal sides, but no right angles |
| Square | Has 4 equal sides and has 4 right angles, also considered a rectangle |
| Rectangle | Opposite sides are the same length and has 4 right angles |
| Parallelogram | Has 2 pairs of parallel sides, but no right angles |
| Trapezoid | Has only 1 pair of parallel sides |
| Degrees | The name for a measurement of an angle |
| Sides | The edge of a shape |
| Vertical Lines | Lines that go up and down |
| Horizontal Lines | Lines that go left and right |
| Symmetry | A line that divides the shape into two mirror images |
| Reflex Angle | An angle that is greater than 180 degrees |
| Straight Angle | An angle that is exactly 180 degrees, straight line |
| Protractor | A tool used to measure angles |
