| meninges | layers of connective tissue covering the brain |
| motor neuron | triggers muscle movements |
| myelin | white mixture that insulates axons and increases nerve conduction |
| neuroglia | provide support to neurons "glue" for nervous system |
| neuron | basic cellular unit of the nervous system |
| neurotransmitters | transmit signals across synapses to other neurons |
| reflexes | involuntary movements caused by reflex arc which is a nerve pathway that bypasses the brain |
