Describe the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat, so she got arrested. The sparked the bus boycott. Which was when people refused to ride the bus. They walked, Carpooled, etc. As a result, segregation buses ended!
How did Martin Luther King Junior Think the Civil Rights Movement would eventually be won? MLK Jr. believed in non-vionlet, peaceful protest, speeches, sitins, etc.
Who sighed the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act? Lyndon B. Johnson.
What did the Civil Rights Act if 1964 do? Segregation in all public places was illegal.
Brown vs. Board of Education -Browns won ending school segregation. -Thurgood Marshall represented the Browns. -Their daughter Linda had to be bussed to a Black school instead of going to the school down the street.
Civil Rights Act -Johnson sighed it -Ended segregation in all public places.
Jim Crow Laws -Jim Crow Laws in the south. -Segregation was "ok" because it was seperate but equal.
Thurgood Marshall -Firt Black supreme court Justice. -Lawyer who won ; Brown v. BoE
24th Amendemant -Can't make people pay the Poll tax in order to vote.
