What was the Alamo? A church used as a fort as the battle of Alamo
What was the purpose of the battle of the Alamo? Texas wanted independence.

What was the Gold Rush? A movement of people to California for Gold
What types of towns popped up in California due to people searching for gold? Mining towns
What was life like for people looking for gold? hard, no supplies, limited housing, and expensive food
What was the trail of tears? Relocating Native Americans to reservation in Oklahoma. Thousands died.
Who was impacted the worst by westward expansion? Native Americans
Why did so many Native Americans die on the journey to their new reservations? Disease, starvation, bad weather, and extreme conditions
