| Ingratiation | the act or process of establishing oneself in the favor or good graces of someone, especially by deliberate effort in order to influence or manipulate |
| Fervently | believe or feel it strongly — with a lot of passion |
| Scourge | something causing pain or misery |
| Adversary | one that contends with, opposes, or resists |
| Appropriate | suitable or fitting for a particular purpose, person, occasion |
| Proprietor | someone who has legal and exclusive ownership of something. |
| Incite | to provoke or trigger action |
| Implicate | to connect or involve in something |
| Patron | a person chosen, named, or honored as a special guardian, protector, or supporter |
| Vestibule | they serve as an entryway or transition space from the outdoors to an interior |
| Confidant | a person who is trusted with secrets or private matters |
| Coagulate | to cause to become viscous or thickened into a coherent mass |
| Oblivion | the state of being forgotten |
| Gouge | to make a hole or dent in something, or to swindle or steal by overcharging |
