Percentages, Taxes, Discounts, Prices

Sales Tax Extra money added to a purchase
Tip / Gratuity Extra money given for service (usually at restaurants)
Total The final amount paid after tax
Subtotal The total cost before tax
Tax Rate The percent used to calculate tax
Savings The money you keep because of the discout
Markdown A lowered price
Original Price The Starting price before a discount
Sale Price The new price after the discount
Discount The amount taken off the original price
Proportioin An equation showing two ratios are equal
Equivalent Equal in Value
Part Portion of a whole
Base the original whole amount
Rate Percent being used
Percent A number out of 100
