| Reservoir Host | Human carrier invaded by pathogen. |
| Means of Exit | The exit corresponds to the location of the pathogen - Wounds, feces, secretions, and blood |
| Means of Transmission | direct transmission- Touching, kissing, skin to skin, sexual contact and/ or contact with soil or germ reservoirs, Indirect- Airborne, droplet, foodborne, and vector borne- insects |
| Means of Entrance | How the next person gets it. |
| Susceptible Host | dependent on individual’s ability to resist infection, thus becoming a susceptible host |
| Medical Asepsis | The condition in which pathogens are absent or controlled. |
