| Externalizing Behavior | Acting-out behaviors; agression or disruptive behavior that is observable as behavior directed toward othes |
| Interalizing Behavior | Acting-in behaviors; anxiety, |
| Comorbidity | Co-occurrence of two or more conditions in the same individual |
| Schizophrenia | Accroding to National Institute of Mental Heath, a chronic and serve mental disorder that affects how a person thinks, feels, and behaves; people say they have gotten out of touch with reality and start around the ages of 16 to 30 |
| Aggression | Behaviors that intentionally causes others harm or that elicts escpae or avoidance responses from others |
| Enuresis | Urinary incontinence; wetting oneself |
| Encopresis | Bowel incontinence; soiliding oneself |
| Zero Tolerance | A school policy, supported by federal and state laws, that certian things will be punished regardless of any excuse. For example, having possession of any weapon or drug on school porperty might automatically result in a given penalty |
| Manifestation Determination (MD) | Determination that a student's misbehavior is or is not a manifestation of a disability |
| Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) | evaluation that consists of finding out the consequences (what purpose the behavior serves), antecedents (what triggeres the behavior), and setting events (contextual factors) that maintian inappropriate behaviors |
| Behavioral Intervention Plan (BIP) | a formal, written plan designed to improve a student's challenging behavior that hinders learning |
| Positive Behavioral Interventation and Support (PBIS) | Systematic use of the science of behavior to find ways of supporting desirable behaviors rather than punishing the undesirable behaviors |
| Interim Altrnative Educational Setting (IAES) | A temporary placement outside general education for students whose behaviors is extremely problematic, but in which their education is continued |
| Time-out | Removing a child temporarily from the enviorment to one less stimulating and enjoyable |
