What was the purpose of the Battle of the Alamo? Texas wanted independence from Mexico.
What was the Oregon Trail? The most popular roue that many people travelled when they decided to move west.
What led many settlers to move west? They wanted more land, space, and gold.
What was the Gold Rush? Mass movement of people looking for gold in California.
What types of towns popped up in California due to people searching for gold? Boom towns
What was life like for people who were searching for gold? Hard, limited, most miners didn't become rich, yet the salesmen did!
What was the Trail of Tears? Relocation of Native Americans to Reservations in Oklahoma, and thousands died.
Who was impacted the worst by Westward Expansion? Native Americans
Why did so many Native Americans die on the journey to their new reservations? Disease, starvation, bad weather, and extreme conditions.
