Population Specific species of a plant or animal that lives in the same area
Habitat The place we’re living things naturally live and grow
Adaptation A feature of a living organism that helps it to live well or survive and it’s environment
What is a biome? A large region of earth that has a distinct climate along with distinct animals and plants
What is ecology? The study of the relationships between living things and their surroundings
What is an ecologist? Scientist who study ecology and environments
What are the groups of biomes and ecosystems? There are nine. Tropical, rainforest, grasslands, Arctic/polar tundra, temperate forest, savanna’s, marine/ocean, taiga coniferous, deserts, freshwater
What is the best description of a biome? Our region of verse that has a distinct CLIMATE, along with distinct animals and plants.
What are the two main types of biomes? Terrestrial and aquatic

What is an ecosystem? Living and nonliving organisms
What are the three types of forest biomes? Tropical, temperate, TAIGA
What are the two types of grassland biomes? Grasslands and Savannah’s
What are the three types of aquatic biomes? Freshwater, marine, and estuaries
What is an example of a living organism? Animal, plant, bug
What is an example of a nonliving organism? Water, dirt, rocks, the sun
Can an ecosystem be any size? Yes, any size big or small
What are all the different animals that live in an ecosystem? Community
What is a population? Each type of animal that forms a group
Where an animal makes a habit of being at Habitat
Niche A specific job the animal or plant does
What is an example of disrupting the balance in an ecosystem? When humans developed land, deforestation, water, pollution, or too many resource resources like water, not conserved.
Mutualism A symbiotic relationship or friendship that is GOOD and helps both organisms. For example, clown, fish, and sea anemone.
Commentualism A relationship between two organisms in which one organism benefits without harming the other organism
Parasitism A parasite living in or on another organism, causing harm to the other. An unwanted visitor.
