superposition the principle that states younger rock is on the top and older rocks are on the bottom
uncomfority a break in geological layers cuased when layers are eridedd or when sediement is not deposited for a long time.
geological column rock layers based on the relative date of the rock where oldest is on the bottom.
absolute dating Any method of dating events or an object in years
radio active decay when radioactive isotopes breakdown and turn from a parent to a daughter isoptope to become more stable
half life the time required for half a sample of isotopes to breakdown and become a daughter isotopes.
radiotmetric dating Any method of determining the abuslute date of an object or event using the percentage of parent and daughter isotopes.
