polisstat Korrupt samhälle där en elitgrupp styr (oftast militärt och diktatur).
diktatur En person eller en mindre grupp har makten och som inte bryr sig om befolkningens önskningar i val av ledare.
korruption Där styrande mutar eller hotar sig till inflytande.
rättssäkerhet Ett system som gör att alla invånare har ett skydd mot övergrepp i samhället och andra individer.
vittne En person som sett ett brott.
offer En person som blivit utsatt för ett brott.
misstänkt En person som tros/kan vara skyldig
bevis Föremål som kan visa hur brottet gått till.
förundersökning Ett beslut som avgör om ett brott har begåtts och om en utredning ska påbörjas.
teknisk undersökning Insamling av bevis, t.ex. fingeravtryck, telefoner, DNA.
utredning När man tar reda på fakta till det som gäller brottet.
