Corroborate Answer: To support an idea, statement, or character's point of view.
2. Prevailing The idea or feeling that is the strongest
3. Indicate To pick or point out.
4. Tone The author's opinions about the content.
5. Mood he emotions evoked by the text.
6. Purpose The reason a text exists; what the author hopes is accomplished.
7. Perspective The lens through which the author is thinking about and understanding something.
8. Audience The readers the text is intended for.
9. Expository Techniques The elements an author uses that focus on central idea, provide evidence and examples, and present logical conclusions (e.g., facts, statistics, testimony, text, data, main ideas, etc.).
10. Stylistic Of or concerning style (usually used when discussing elements).
11. Closure A sense of resolution or conclusion.
12. Suspense A feeling of anxious curiosity; it often builds during rising action.
13. Adaptation A story or work that is based on an older story/play, often with changed characters.
14. Parenthetical Citations Brief references within the text that provide readers with the source of the information; "Parenthetical" means the information is included in parentheses ()
15. Works Cited A list at the end of a text that shows all the sources that were used to find the information, giving credit to the person/s who created the information.

Blight: Noun Something that spoils, prevents growth.
Maladies: Noun - Illnesses or diseases.
Puzzled: Adjective - Confused and unable to understand something.
Stricken: Adjective - Very badly affected by trouble or illness.
Stillness: Noun - Absence of noise or motion.
Deserted: Adjective - Abandoned; empty.
Emissions: Noun - Release, discharge, or gases sent into the air or environment.
Emit: Verb - To produce and discharge something.
Activist: Noun - - A person who campaigns to bring about political or social change.
