Frustration - Aggression Principle: Frustration- the blocking if an attempt to achieve some goal- creates anger
Proximity: We tend to be more attracted to those who are closer to us physically
Mere exposure Effect: = the phenomenon the repeated exposure to novel stimuli increases liking of them
Altrusim: Doing good deeds for the sake of doing good deeds
Diffusion of responsibitlity: People assume someone else is going to do it for them, this is like the bystander effect
Apathy: You dont care, doesn’t think something matters
Equity: Both people invest equally in the relationship
Self-disclosure: Share openly with one another
Social Trap: Conflict of parties pursuing their self interests rather than t3he good of the group
Mirror-Image: Perceptions each side sees it self as ethical and peaceful and views the other side as evil and aggressive
Superordinate Goals: Shared goals that override differences among people and require their cooperation
GRIT: Graduated and Reciprocated initiatives in Tension- Reduction- A strategy designed to decrease international tensions
Social Exchange Theory: The theory that our social behavior is an exchange process, the aim of which is to maximize benefits and minimize costs
Reciprocity Norm: An expectation that people will help, not hurt those who have helped them
