Botany The scientific study of plants
Chlorophyll The green substance found in plants that enables them to make their own food
Embryo The living part of the seed that becomes a new plant
Germinate To sprout
Loam Soil that is made up of a mixture of sand, clay and silt
Photosynthesis The process by which green plants use sunlight to change water and carbon dioxide into sugar
Pollination The moving of pollen from stamens to pistols of flowers by wind or insects
Stamen The center part of the flower that makes pollen
Lichen I'm almost like plant that goes on trees and rocks
