Cell membrane allows materials to enter and exit a cell

Endoplasmic reticulum the transportation system of a cell
Golgi apparatus cell part responsible for packaging materials
Lysosome organelle that breaks down waste
Mitochondria organelle that releases energy in food (converts food energy into a useable form)
Nucleus organelle that controls cell activities
Ribosome organelle that makes protein
Cytoplasm Gel-like fluid that fills in the space between organelles
Homeostasis Keeps things in balance in your body
Organelle Specialized structures in a cell that perform specific functions
Photosynthesis When a plant/bacteria converts light energy into chemical energy
Plant cell Has a cell wall and chloroplast, uses photosynthesis
Animal cell Flexible, irregular in shape, contain centrioles, and have small, temporary vacuoles - NO photosynthesis
