| Term | Definition |

| Evaporation | When water turns into vapor due to heat from the sun. The Water from the rain quickly evaporated due to the extreme heat. |
| Condensation | When the water vapor cools and turns back into a liquid. The wetness on the outside of the bottled drink that was in the fridge. |
| Precipitation | When there is too much condensation making it heavy and gravity pulls it back down. There was too much water in the clouds so it started to rain. |
| Run Off | Water that runs off of land and into a bigger body of water. All the snow melted and started to flow into the lake. |
| Transpiration | When water runs through a plant and gets released into the atmosphere as a vapor. The rain forests plants release water vapor which is why its so wet. |
| Gravity | An invisible force that pulls everything inside the atmosphere towards the earth. when you throw or drop something it will always go down because of gravity. |
| Ground Water | Water stored underground that plants can access water. When i was digging a hole in my back yard for a garden i found an underground pond. |
| surface water | Bodies of water such as lakes rivers and oceans. I went fishing with my grandpa on his boat in the ocean. |
