ozone (O3) A greenhouse gas in the lower atmosphere that traps heat.
burning fossil fuels The process of burning coal, oil, or gas that releases carbon dioxide.
refrigerant A cooling substance that can release greenhouse gases if it leaks.
respiration A natural process that releases carbon dioxide into the air.
natural forest fires Fires that occur naturally and release greenhouse gases.
emissions Gases released into the atmosphere from natural or human activities.
temperature A measure of how hot or cold the atmosphere is.
precipitation Water that falls from the atmosphere as rain, snow, sleet, or hail.
agriculture practices encompass the various methods and activities involved in cultivating soil, growing crops, and raising livestock.
volcanic eruptions occur when magma, gases, and rock fragments are expelled from Earth's crust through a vent.
