cardinal directions the 4 main directions: north, south, east, west
compass rose a map tool that indicates the orientation of north or other cardinal or intermediate directions on a map
human characteristics a man-made feature of an environment like a city, park or road
intermediate directions the directions halfway between 4 main directions: northwest, northeast, southwest and southest
map a picture of an area
map scale a tool that shows how distance on a map compares to actual distances on earth
physical characteristics natural parts of land like rivers, lakes or mountains
relative location the location of a place in relation to other places
List the 4 cardinal directions north, south, east, west
List the 4 intermediate directions northeast, northwest, southeast, southwest
